TEN THOUSAND WORDS

TEN THOUSAND WORDS
BY GYEBI .N.BOTWE

Ten thousand words
can not explain,
Ten thousand words
are not enough,
Ten thousand years
and his blood still saves.
Oh wow, oh how?
Who is this God?
Who is he who cannot
stop showing compassion
to mere mortals.
Mortal men yearned
and wanted the authority
to be like the Almighty,
But in their search
for supremacy and greatness
they fell short and
couldn't achieve.
Not even a little bit of it.
Mortal men? Do they think
God prattles with humans?
A God who in just a clap
could wipe out their
existence and probably
their descendants as well.

But then, we realised,
We! We mortals realised
that God in his own power
came down in a form
of man, in a form
of flesh and blood.
Now, isn't that humility?
Isn't that meekness?
Isn't that kindness and
compassion being shown
to humanity?
The most powerful in
the universe, he who is
beyond and beyond all,
beyond this world's
greatest minds came
full of meekness,
full of his sovereignty
but sacrificed himself
so you and I could be free.
Wonderful, with each
step he took, he did so
this broken human
race would be saved
and freed.

"Ten thousand words
can not explain,
Ten thousand words
are not enough,
Ten thousand years
and his blood still saves."
